This weekend, there will be a reported over 300,000 guests here to celebrate New Year’s Eve on the Las Vegas strip and Fremont Street Experience. There is no denying that Las Vegas is one of the top destinations in the United States to spend New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Some of the biggest acts in music from Bruno Mars to Britney Spears to Celine Dion will entertain fans at venues across the strip this year. There will also be a big celebration down on Fremont Street with Mayor Carolyn Goodman. All of it is called America’s Party. There is no denying that it is one for sure.
Besides the music acts, the big showcase is the fireworks around midnight and there are 80,000 electronic devices slated for this year. Fireworks will be launched all along the Las Vegas Strip that includes the Stratosphere, MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island and the Venetian.
The city of Las Vegas and New Year’s Eve have a long history. This is even true when it comes to focusing on casino chips. Earlier this year we brought you articles on chips from Halloween and Christmas. Now it is time to do New Year’s chips.
For different years, a variety of casinos have put out New Year’s chips. One of the things that is unique about these is the fact that they come in limited quantities and are obviously used for a limited time. From our collection, two current casinos on the Las Vegas strip have done an interesting variety of chips.
First, is the Tropicana. What you will notice about the designs on the various chips is it really gives you a feel of what a New Year’s party should be. For example, one of the chips you will see below has a dancing couple. Another chip celebrated an old night in Havana for their New Year’s theme which is limited to 700. Finally, nothing says New Year’s celebrating like balloons and fireworks. This was limited to a quantity of 1500. You can see all three chips below and purchase them on Ebay. Another current strip casino that has some New Year’s chips is the Treasure Island. One celebrates a masquerade theme and the other has Eden written on it. Finally for the strip, one of the closed establishments, the Aladdin, debuted this champagne and glass chip. This chip was limited to a quantity of 50 and is also a PaulSon chip.
Off strip in North Las Vegas, the Fiesta Casino makes our list again from North Las Vegas. Known for designing $5 chips for numerous holidays, this set of five chips below for the New Year’s holiday is an interesting group. The chips are from different years and can also be bought on Ebay.
