There are casino collectibles that tell you about Las Vegas, and then there are pieces that seem to put you right back on the Strip.
At Spinettis Gaming Supplies, we’re excited to offer three remarkable pieces of Old Las Vegas history: authentic, course-used rental golf clubs from the legendary Desert Inn Country Club & Casino. Available as a putter, a No. 3 club, and a five-club iron set, these pieces offer collectors something increasingly difficult to find: a tangible connection to one of Las Vegas’ most celebrated resorts and golf courses.
Authentic Pieces of Golf History
Few places capture the glamour of Old Las Vegas quite like the Desert Inn. Opened in 1950, the legendary resort became a favorite of celebrities, entertainers and high-profile guests, while its Country Club established itself as one of Las Vegas’ premier golf destinations.
The Desert Inn golf course opened in the early 1950s and hosted the PGA Tour Tournament of Champions from 1953 through 1966, welcoming legendary golfers including Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. The course was also a favorite of celebrities such as Frank Sinatra.
The Desert Inn changed hands several times before Howard Hughes purchased the resort in 1967. Decades later, the property closed in 2000 and was demolished, eventually making way for Wynn Las Vegas. Today, Wynn Golf Club occupies part of the historic grounds.
This is what makes these authentic Desert Inn Country Club rental clubs especially fascinating for collectors.
