Facelift of Las Vegas: What’s New in Vegas?

Over the last year, there has been a lot of construction projects going on in Las Vegas and one casino got demolished. We wanted to give you an update on what has been going on if you have not been here.

One: Resorts World at the North End of the Strip: The picture collage below is from Friday, March 23rd. This is one of the most anticipated, if not the most anticipated ongoing project currently on the Las Vegas Strip. It will open in the coming years. It is slated to be an Asian casino mega-resort. Construction has been moving slowly, but there has been progress. The assumption in the media and around town is Resorts World is waiting to the north end of the strip is at its ultimate peak.

Two: Stratosphere’s 140 million dollar renovation. If you stand outside the front door of our store in Downtown Las Vegas and you look to the right, you will see a great view of the Stratosphere. News reports have said there is a great renovation coming to the tallest building west of the Mississippi. There may be even a rumored name change from Stratosphere to The Strat. Check out one of our favorite chips from The Stratosphere from 1996 you can purchase below clicking the picture.

Three:  Monte Carlo to Park MGM: Construction work has been taking place inside the Monte Carlo as they get ready to change the name to Park MGM to coincide with the Park Theater where acts including Cher, Ricky Martin, Bruno Mars have residences and Lady Gaga will have her residency. Those who want to collect items from the Monte Carlo, they will start becoming harder to find with the name change. You can purchase either of the two chips we have from there clicking either chip picture below.

Four: Palace Station Expanding:  If you have driven by Palace Station as a local or tourist on your visit to the strip or downtown, you would see the massive construction project currently going on. The plans are to add a movie theater and what is being build as a “resort style pool complex”. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, there are also plans to renovate the poker room and sportsbook among other things. In the world of Station casinos, there are also plans to renovate The Palms as well.

Five:  Las Vegas Club Disappears: Last year the Las Vegas Club became the latest casino to be demolished.  The reported new resort/project will have more rooms than the Las Vegas Club did. In our Cool Item of the Week, the below is a roulette layout from the Las Vegas Club. The asking price is $95. You can see it below.
